Willy González Cruz (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; June 3, 1979), known as Redimi2, is a Dominican rapper of Christian music, is considered one of the main exponents of Christian rap and one of the most influential and popular rappers at the International. 1 2 3 In mid-1999 he started in music together with a group of other young people, among them his brother JG (Domínico González) and his friend Chiky, they decided to create the group Redimi2 Squad, who would later be alone GC Willy, calling themselves then Redimi2. In his songs he reflects his Christian devotion. He is the first rapper to release a Christian rap album in his country.4 He has collaborated with Christian singers such as El Philippe, Natan El Profeta, Rubinsky RBK, Tercer Cielo, Lucía Parker, Annette Moreno, Danny Berrios, Alex Campos, Christine D ' Clario, Coalo Zamorano, GeneraSion, Jesús Adrián Romero, Marcos Brunet, Evan Craft, Barak and Rescate, and with rappers Vico C, Almigthy, Manny Montes, Funky, Alex Zurdo and Travy Joe.4

In 2000, Redimi2 released "Mortal Combination", a disc containing 10 songs, one of the songs with which this album was released was the song called "Mortal Combination". In 2006, Redimi2 released its third production "Revolution". This album has contributions from Manny Montes, his brother J.G., Isabelle Valdéz, Claudia Sierra, Raphy Colón, Romy Ram and J. Cantoral. From this album comes the song "I don't sing rubbish", in which he talks to non-Christian reggaeton fans for "corrupting youth".

Months later, Willy brought together other Christian singers to create a production called The Invincible Team, in which they participate: Manny Montes, Goyo, Bengie, Rey Pirín, Romy Ram, Jonny L, his wife Daliza, JG, Maso, Valentín, Alex Zurdo, Helton DJ, Dr. P and Triple Seven.

In December 2007, Redimi2 made a concert in his country, from which he would get his fifth production in 2008: "Live: The Concert": which consists of his best hits including 6 previously unreleased songs and from which his first DVD was released. 5

On September 29, 2009, Redimi2 launched "Phenomenon Edition", in which they participate: Maso, Iván and Ab, Daliza and Juan Carlos Rodríguez (Third Heaven). In 2010, he released his first mixtape called "Rap Redimi2: The Things I Never Said".

In 2011, Redimi2 through a video on YouTube, gives the information that his sixth studio album "Exterminador" would be divided into 3 productions.4 In July he released the first production called "Exterminador Operación PR", dedicated to Puerto Rico, in which included: Annette Moreno, Lucía Parker, Vico C, Cecilio Ramírez, Manny Montes, Sugar, Goyo, Alex Zurdo, Michael Pratts, Maso and Danny Berrios.6

In May 2012, Redimi2 would simultaneously release two albums: Exterminador OPR 100x35, a special edition of the Exterminador Operación PR album that includes 8 previously unreleased tracks; and Exterminador Operación RD, a record dedicated to the Dominican Republic.7

In 2013, he released along with singer Funky the album "# Más", which was awarded a 2014 Harp Award for "Best Urban Album" and nominated in two additional categories. 8 9 In that same year he made a short appearance in the Puerto Rican movie "Reggaeton The Movie" .10

In 2014 he released the album "Operación Mundial". This album shows «El Nombre de Jesús» with Christine D'Clario, a single that has a music video with millions of views on the YouTube platform, being the most popular of the singer and the most viewed Christian hip hop video of all languages. 11

In April 2017, he released the album "Pura Sal" with collaborations by Puerto Rican rappers: Funky and Alex Zurdo, groups like Miel San Marcos and Barak and singers like his wife Daliza Cont, Christine D'Clario, Julio Melgar, Marcos Brunet, Agustín Ramos, Ulises from Grupo Rescate and Evan Craft, among others.

In 2018, he released the album "Trapstornadores", which was very popular for its content, 12 especially for the single "Trapstorno" which generated a wave of video reactions for its mention of Bad Bunny (bad rabbit) and successful criticism. Trap music for its obscene and explicit content this led to many criticisms. It is characterized by the participation of Christian artists of the urban genre such as Natan the Prophet, Rubinsky Rbk, Philippe and Lizzy Parra, as well as the participation of his wife Daliza Cont and daughter Samantha.

His latest singles, which will be part of his 20/20 studio album, have become a trend on the YouTube platform, highlighting the themes "Gravy", "Philippians 1: 6», " won a Tu Música Urbana Award in the category "Best Christian Song". 14

In 2020, in the midst of the coronavirus disease pandemic, he was seen very active on the networks, where in an Instagram live that was made between Resident and Nayib Bukele, the rapper began asking controversial questions and Bad Bunny was writing that ask him what he had said.
